I currently study seismic effects apply to a piping structure with spring hangers. I would like to know, what are impacts of an earthquake on these spring hangers. Here are my questions:
1) What are, in “hanger report W/ Text”, “vertical movement” and “horizontal movement”?
2) Do these values vary according to loads applied to the structure studied like uniform load?
3) In “hanger report W/Text”, “maximum table displacement range” concerns the maximum displacement vertical? Horizontal? Or both?
4) What are, in “hanger report W/ Text”, “minimum allowed single spring load” and the “maximum allowed single spring load”?
5) How can I know if hangers will stand up to the seismic load? Is it just to compare the displacement at the node connecting piping and hanger with “max table displacement range”?
Regards
