IMPELLER SHAFT NUT 1

AT PRESENT WE ARE OVERHAULING A CENTRIFUGAL PUMP AND ITS LOCK NUT GOT DAMAGED.. SO WHAT MATERIAL I CAN USE FOR MAKING A NEW IMPELLER NUT.. SAME MATERIAL AS SHAFT OR MATERIAL WITH DIFFERENT STRENGTH AND THERMAL EXPANSION??

They are typically a similar material, but be careful if this not just steel.
If it is SS or other alloys you need to watch compatibility both for corrosion and galling.

Material of construction of all wetted parts (e.g. impeller) will depend on the pump application which you have not stated.

What material the lock nut that got damaged is made of?
How did the nut get damaged?
Are the key and keyway and keyseat in good condition as to prevent any relative movement of shaft and impeller?
Is the thread of the shaft undamaged?
