Hello everyone...

I am performing a postbuckling analysis on a compressed cylinder. I've done a linear buckling analysis on perfect cylinder to find the eigenvalues, then would like to use the *imperfection command to introduce the imperfections on the cylinder.

My question is, which line should the command be placed in the input file? I have tried placing the line afer *NODE (i.e. command for nodes of perfect cylinder) like specified in the ABAQUS documentation but it did not worked.

I also try putting on different sections in the input file but got error message instead.

Thanx in advance...

I can't check right now (at home...), but I assume that you are using parts and instances in your model? If so, I *think* the *IMPERFECTION has to sit outside the *ASSEMBLY block and before the *STEP card.
