Implicit Dynamic Analysis (Impact) - WBv11

I am trying to perform an impact analysis where the load is applied suddenly (delta t ~ 0.01 s). I am obtaining results where the maximum stresses developed are 100 times less than the static case for an identical load, which to me should not be the case. Does anyone have any experience in performing these types of impact analyses within regular ANSYS, not LS-DYNA? Thanks.

Hi,
are you sure your total timeframe is long enough to capture the response of the system to the impulse load? You can Fourier-think of your impulse load as an excitation spectrum, so you will have to capture the response of your structure: the peak response may well be delayed wrt the end time of the impulse.
