I have a parasolid file from a supplier that will not import.

I get a couple differnt errors, depending how I attempt to open it:
"Invalid file contents" When I try to import it into an existing part
"An unrecognized interoperation request has been received" When I click on the icon (on my desktop) and open with NX.

The suffix on the file is "x_t"
I am on NX6
I do not know what CAD system the part was created in.

Does anybody have any suggestions on getting this parasolid to import?

Could be a corrupted file, download it again or ask the supplier for a new copy. If it still doesn't work ask the supplier what program it is coming from and if there are any other options such as STEP or IGES.

Instead of trying to open it in NX, try importing it into an NX file.

yes, open a file in NX (old or new) and do File->Import ->parasolid

Also, VisMockup will open the x_t if you just want to look at it.

Also what version of NX are you running? I haven't seen the specific error but older versions of NX are supported by earlier versions of Parasolid, so if the Parasolid was exported by a newer version of NX or some other system that you haven't any control over then it may have something to do with your problem.

Hudson, I am on NX6

That is a good point that you bring up. Typically If I need to send a prasolid file to someone - I usually pick an older parasolid version so that I am ssured that they can open it up.
