Import Points and/or Curves from Igs file

I have an igs file that has multiple points, multiple curves, and one surface in it. When i open that file in solidworks all i get is the one surface. Is there a trick to importing the points and curves? Thanks.

after selecting import .igs in the open dialog, click the options. here you can select to import sketch entities.
