Importing a STEP file FROM TeamCenter into an NX part

I frequently receive 3rd party data, such as optical designs as STEP files, that I would like to control in TeamCenter. I would then like to create native NX part by importing that STEP file FROM TeamCenter. But I can't figure out how to do that. When I select FILE->IMPORT->STEP203..., however, I can only select STEP files from my local drive.

Is there a way to navigate to the TeamCenter vault to select the file that I imported there?

Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob,
Sorry, but you can't navigate through teamcenter folder from NX natif.

Rob,

Try the following steps:
Create a new item in the TC portal
Create a new UGMASTER dataset below the item revision.
When you create the new dataset you can browse any file to add it as named reference.
Default case you can browse any NX .prt files to add the UGMASTER.
But the right side of the dialog box you can select any references. From this list you can select the STEP reference. And then you can select the STEP file from your disk to import into the TC.
And then you can open the managed STEP file with the managed NX Open window.
Our customer uses this method with the X_T files.
I hope I was clear.
