Ok, i dont know why this happens, but it doesnt happen on every import. ill export from pro/e as a .dxf format. Open it in autocad and print. All the lines will come out fine, the correct line weights and thicknesses. But randonmly ill open and print one, and the lines are completely off, and extremely light.

Thanks in advance

You might want to check that you are using the same plot style table when you print. We typically use a modified monochrome.ctb file.

Another thing to check is the layer status in Pro/E when you export the files. I made a mapkey so that turns on all the layers and zooms to extents before exporting.

Hope this helps,

We normally do use the monochrome print option. But the lines will still come out very light. I've tried playing with the pen weights and all that jazz. But to no avail.

How do you export from Pro/E to DXF? Somebody from the other building was asking me, but I am not a user; so I went to somebody else's computer and in Pro/E, went to File -> Save a Copy.. and the pop dialog does not offer the option of saving as DXF.

Thanks for any hints.

It will allow you to change the file type to .dxf if you change the directory first. For some reason Pro/E won't let you save a .dxf in your working directory. If you change the directory the .dxf option magically appears.
