I upgraded to ACAD '05 last summer from ACAD '00. Every now and then I need to import an IGS file and had no problem in ACAD '00 with the IGESIN command. Today I needed to import that particular format but noticed that ACAD '05 has no such command. What gives? Am I doing something wrong or is there another way of importing this format? Any help is much appreciated.

IGES importing is now an add on program (meaning cash) or if you own AutoCAD Mechanical, MDT, or Inventor you get that feature.

You'll need an add-on. An AutoCAD reference shows IGESIN and IGESOUT were removed after R12 - so what you were using in 2000 was some sort of add-on, either third party, or Mechanical Desktop or something.

Thanks for the info and the quick, informative replies from all of you.
