Having looked at other posts this seems like something I should be able to do: I want to import the materials data for my geometry from Inventor 2017 to carry out a structural analysis in Ansys 18.0, but I can't get it working.
I have using the Ansys plugin for Inventor and the reader, both of which I managed to install using the CAD integration manager and import the geometry into workbench. However I am then unable to load the geometry in the modeller as it says the license for that feature cannot be found, I'm assuming this is because I have the student license which may not include these.
I have also tried importing the geometry as .iges and .sat with the "material properties" box ticked and I still don't see the "CAD Materials" entry appear in the engineering data table as I think I should.
Any help would be much appreciated.
