Importing Solidworks Files

Can anyone tell me a way to import a Solidworks file. Thanks in advance for your help.

I believe transmagic will read a .sldprt and output a .ipt but it is not a cheap program. Otherwise you can export the file from SW as a SAT or STEP.

I would use STEP (*.stp) output. If you use ACIS (*.sat) make sure to click Options in SWX and set as v7.

You could also try this new translator for Parasolid files from SWX.

Also, make sure it exports as a solid body. If not you won't be able to mate to it.
