Hi,
WE are importing step files, which has been successful (SW2001+), but all parts within sub assemblies are suppressed. Is there an easy way in SW to resolve all parts in the feature tree including those in sub-assemblies?

Without having to open up the tree and selecting each series of parts under sub-assembly and resolving them?

Dave,
My workaround is as follows.
1. Select top item featrue tree of ASM
2. Select the "icon" for unsuppress w/dependants. (from "features toolbar)

Now, with that said, I can not remember if you get this icon by default (meaning it is showing on default install).
If not:
1. Right click one of the toolbars and select customize.
2. Then select the commands tab.
3. Scroll down in the "categoires" list, find and select [Features]
4. On my box the button you want is 3 down on the far left side. Make sure you get the right one. The command you are looking for is [UNSUPPRESS WITH DEPENDANTS].
5. Once found drag this button to a toolbar you like.

Now, you can use this button after selecting the top of the ASM and unsuppress EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING That is suppressed in the ASM :)

Thanks Sean

Thought there must be a nice easy solution, and again SolidWorks came thru ;-)

Use the motto when I am helping otheres learn solidworks - "If you think there must be an easier way to do something - there probably is"

Dave,

To open assy with all components resolved:
1. File -> Open
2. Select Assy -> Click Configure -> Open
3. Configure Document dialog box appears -> Click "New configuration showing all referenced models".
4. Type any name for new configuration -> OK
