Hi all
I have a Pro/E surface model that I want to use in Ansys Workbench. I can import the geometry with no problems. But I would also like to somehow define the surface thickness in Pro/E and transfer that information to Workbench. How could this be done?
I can define Named Selections in Pro/E and import them to Workbench but is there a way to define a surface thickness in Workbench using Named Selections? I know it’s also possible to import Attributes from CAD to Workbench. Could they be used in defining surface thicknesses? Also the thicknesses need to be parameterized so that they can be used as input parameters in Design Exploration.
I know I can set the surface thicknesses as parameters manually and create necessary relations in the Parameter set but that’s a lot of work. This model is to be used in the tendering stage of a process so it should be as easy and as quick to use as possible. Also the Pro/E model acts as a master model for a lot of projects so saving the thickness information to the CAD model would be very convenient.
BTW, I'm using WB 13.0 and Pro/E Wildfire 5.0.
