improperly defined surfaces

Hi everyone,

how could I check surface definitions - make sure that all surface normals point outwards?

I made a model and an error occurs:

18 improperly defined surface(s). Please check your suface definitions. Make sure that all surface normals point outward.

 

[FEA way]

Just select each surface like you would like to edit it. When you confirm to reassign surfaces you will be asked which side to choose as normal.

To check the surface normals, open the .odb and go to Options -> Common -> Normals.

Yes, that will work too. Just remember to switch from „On elements” to „On surfaces”.
