In a part model, is there a way to link the scale factor field to an equation in the assembly it reports to? It seems like just about everything else driven by a numeric value can be controlled this way, but I haven't figured out how to do it with the scale factor.

In case anyone is worried about why on earth I'd ever want to do this; I'm creating an assembly model of a variably-sized conveyor system. This is strictly for visual purposes, so a person can plug in certain variables and see about what their system would look like. The size of the motor depends of course on how big the rest of the system is. Rather than use configurations to drive the size of the motor (and other parts of the drive system), it seems to me that an equation would be a cleaner simpler way to go - that is if there's a way to do it. The scale factor is not directly accessible. You have to edit the feature to get access to this value. Therefore, you can't directly link it to an equation. I think the only way to accomplish what you are after is with a vba macro, which could access the scale feature and update it. The limitation is that, because your scale feature is driven by code instead of an equation, it will only update when you manually run the macro. In order to get the update to occur automatically you will require a dll (addin) which is constantly running. This dll will "watch" for a rebuild and recalculate the appropriate scale factor.
