In fill material for field joint 1

Hi everybody,

I'm a materials engineer and I'm working as coating engineer for an oil company. I was monitoring a PQT some days ago and I saw something quite strange so I would like to ask your opinion.
The pqt was for polyurethane infill for field joint. After filling the field joint the material was errupting from the injection hole of the mould and I can not explain the behaviour of the material as I didn't expect to see that huge expansion cosifering that the material was solid not foam.

Not had that happ;en before either. Shootingi n the dark on this one, but could there have been air in the lines? Was it repeated or a one-off incident?

thanks for your replay
It could be that in the polyol was present some moisture, but the raw material was stored adequately.
The infill was performed on 3 consecutive joints and the solid PU always showed the same behaviour.

they just said that this is the usual behaviour they experiment for this material...
