I'm interested in seeing if it would be possible to use a in line process refractometer to measure or correlate an amount solids flowing through the refractometer in our process.
This would be going on a sweet milk line that is approximatly 87% solids, 13% moisture, would a refractometer even work at such high solids? Also I'm trying to understand the accuracy of these devices and i see they are measured typically in brix. Which is a sugar to water measurment?
How would i figure out the accuracy in % water (or solids, it does not matter) in my sweet milk when the meter says it has a .05* brix accuracy?
I dont even know how to ask the question..
