Dear All,

Guys kindly help me out here. I'm a little confused on terms and definitions used in the field of inspection.
In API 653,other people called it "in service inspection"if you are inspection a tank which is not shutdown. And "out of service inspection" if the tank is shutdown. Now I actually cant locate that terms in API 653 code.Eventually,I found some terms in API 570 that if you are inspecting a pipe that is not shutdown it is called "on stream inspection".The term "In service" as defined in API 570 is a component that is placed in operation or installed."in service inspection" is defined as "all inspection activities associated with piping after it has been initially placed in service, but before it has been retired".
I want to know what is the exact term to be used in tank inspection,if tank is shutdown and if its not.

Thanks a lot!!
