Inactive DOF

I am confused as to why when I apply concerntrated load onto a node in my model, I get the following error message

1 nodes have inactive dof on which bounday conditions are specified.

I know it is the node I applied the load to as when I supress this load and run the analysis, it runs without any errors. This method has worked for me in the past, so can not understand why now it is a problem. Any advice and help appreciated.

Are you applying a moment to a node of a solid body? If so solid element's nodes only have the 3 translational DOFs. You can create a point and apply the moment to that and couple to a face of the solid. I hope this helps.
