Including main / auxiliary drain piping as part of dry pipe system volume?

As mentioned in the title of this post, should the dry-pipe main and auxiliary drain piping be included as part of the dry-pipe system volume calculation?

I believe it should be, but would appreciate a second opinion.

I always include them up to the system side of the drain valve.
