Hello everyone,
I am doing a FE analysis with ABAQUS 6.9 of a notched specimen (fracture mechanics). In order to record the singularity at the crack tip I mesh the crack tip with collapsed elements. Because of this, my mesh contains regular quadratic elements and modified quadratic triangle elements.
So ABAQUS gives me a warning message:
The following parts or part instances contain both modified quadratic triangle elements and regular quadratic elements, which are incompatible.
Does this affect my solution? Is there any way I can record the crack singularity without this warning?
I attach an image of my mesh.
Thanks a lot for your help
