Hello,

I am looking for 480 V 60 hz ac induction motor technical catalogues with the following data for different rated powers: efficiency, power factor, starting current, speed (rpm), starting torque vs rated torque, max torque vs rated torque, inertia, starting power factor,...

I have some very old table with 50 hz 380 V data but I need some typical data for 480 V 60 hz for making preliminary design studies, as manufacture data will not be available for a long time.

For what purpose? It varies from mfr to mfr and design to design. There are generalities that you can get from NEMA MG-10, but there are no exact numbers that fir all aspects. So if you are trying to pre-engineer something critical with that data, there's a very small chance that what you get will match exactly.

Note; In NEMA land, the motors will be rated 460 Volts for a 480 Volt supply.

Thanks electricpete, I was looking for something like that.

jraef, I know that data is different from manufacturer to manufacturer but when no data is available you have to make some preliminary design assumptions, for example, starting current=7 times of rated current and similar things to be on the safety side. I have 50 hz data, as my work is mostly in IEC world, and I need some 60 hz or NEMA data so that I can make some assumptions.

waross, correct, I meant 460 V 3-phase motors in 480 V supply.
 
Take a look at the Cowern Papers:
Page 15 of the .PDF file. Page 9 shown on the face of the document.
You may find the NEMA locked rotor code or Nema Code Letters useful. NEMA locked rotor codes indicate the starting KVA per HP of different motor designs. Also on the same page is a quick description of the Motor Design Letters. The design letters relate to starting torque and slip. Unfortunately the new high efficiency motors were at the proposal stage when these papers were written and so are not included.

Now I have another question. I need to start 2 250 HP and 2 25 HP motors with direct start simultaneously in the same step with a diesel generator.
I have been looking for starting power factor data as it will be critical. Assume that I need to start 1314kW at first step. Which would be the required diesel engine rated power?

ISO 8528-5 has some figures where it states that an engine can only give a % of its rated power in one step, and it is a function of the BMEP of the engine.

Is there a way to know from manufacturer datasheets which would be tha maximum kW that a diesel genset engine will be able to supply in one step?
