Have a few 120 watt panels, a nice wind gen, plenty of 130Amp/Hr 12 volt UPS batteries, inverters, charge controllers, diversion load devices, lots of 2/0 welding cable, misc parts/pcs - need assistance in designing for switches, fuses, breakers, guages....and schematics. To be designed for the sun-rich far southwest TX desert region for a simple off-grid cabin under const now.

Anyone with patience and time to assist me, via long distance emails, in this adventure is appreciated.

thanks in advance for your assistance.

Given your lack of expertise, I would recommend buying something off the shelf. A DYI unit, given free advice from the internet might result in a catastrophic event for both the user and the utility. Being that electric mains potentially affect public safety, you are not qualified to do anything that attaches to the mains without adequate testing and validation.

IRstuff, excellent points, but he did say that he was off the grid so he won't endanger others.

The internet is not the place to learn something like this, you need local help from someone who knows what is going on.

Agreed, but most people will invariably find that they don't or can't have enough battery to store the energy when it's generated, so that it can be used later. I make it to be something like 90 automobile batteries, or so, for a nominal power system with a 2-day reserve.

So, the next best thing is to generate and sell to the utility and buy back at a later time.
