Hello All!
I'm looking at the stability assessment of a tailings dam and may possibly need lime piles to strengthen the slopes. Lime piling would be ideal for short and long term stabilisation as the ground (red mud, perhaps prone to liquifaction) has lower shear strength compared to expected shear strength of the lime pile (expecting lime shear strength in order of 400 kN/m2). Does anyone know of any good references referring to lime piles? Sensitivity to different soils, etc?? What is the best technique to use in the design of lime piles??, which would provide a simple and practical solution Thanks for the help!
