I have a Circulating water system that uses raw water on our facility. The P&ID shows an ID of "15 NB Sch 160"on some piping. Does anyone know what is "NB " stands for? I have look at the manual and system description but I have no luck on finding what it means.

NB means nominal bore. This in effect is the Internal Diameter of the pipe. "15NB" means 15 inch internal diameter.

"NB" STANDS FOR NOMINAL BORE...I SUSPECT THE TUBE IS 15mm NOMINAL BORE. THE "SCH" IS SHORT FOR SCHEDULE...THIS IS GENERALLY TAKEN AS THE WALL THICKNESS OF THE TUBE...THE HIGHER THE SCHEDOULE THE THICKER THE WALL THICKNESS...THUS THE HEAVIER THE TUBE.
