For some reason the information window no longer appears on one of our seats running NX5, we have tried F4 and the icon on the standard toolbar but neither make the window appear. Is there any way of getting the window to appear please?

Make sure that the info (listing) window has nor been moved so that it's off the screen (look near the edges of your display as you may actually see a corner of it and can drag it back to where it can be seen. If that doesn't work, try going to Preferences -> User Interface... and hit the 'Reset Window Position' button.

I had this behaviour on a dual monitor system the infotext window was not to find... another dual monitor setting in the graphic driver and the window works again ... (dual monitor is not supported)

If the "Reset Window" doesn't work, then you can also look to delete the registry key that controls the window layout ... HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unigraphics Solutions\NX\5.0\Layout ... always works for me.

Yes deleting the Layout registry key does the job. We have had it on the menu for the basic curves tracking bar. You can click the cross on the corner and be unable to restore it. This shouldn't happen and doesn't always occur, but it did for me and we had to find this solution.

Save you icons by grabbing a copy of the user.mtx file, or saving you role NX-4 plus, before you do this and only do it if you have to. Editing the registry is always the last resort.

I think we had done Tools->Customize->Reset Layout for this problem, in NX2.

Sasha,

You can try Man's suggestion ahead of editing the Registry, but be aware this one will reset all you icons. So saving the user.mtx files can be your protection from that.

In our case it didn't work, but like I said editing the registry is usually the last resort.

Have you tried just clicking the information window icon by the way? I'm pretty sure there was such and icon in NX-3 you may have to switch it on under the view toolbar. Try View Information, and F4. Try getting the information window to display under gateway, and leave it there while to swap into modeling and then toggle the icon or bounce the F4 key a few times. It may come good after that.
