In NX3 is there a way to inherit customer defaults, such as lineweights, text sizes, etc, to a part that already exists.

About the best that you can do is create a part and set up every thing as best you can to meet your 'standards'. Then, if you don't have a user defined tab on your resource bar, create one (Preferences -> Palettes... and select the 'New Palette' icon). Now open that tab and with you cursor over some 'white space',press MB3 and select User Entry -> Visualization Template. Now if you have really set up everything as you want it and you want it all, just accept the dialog that comes up (you might give it a more descriptive name however). OK, now open one of your legacy parts that you wish to update and then go over to the new tap and 'drag' the 'template' over the graphics window. All of the settings in the 'Visualization Template' will be applied to your open part file. Now just save the file and repeat as needed.
