I have one (reference) view on my drawing that is from a different model other than what the drawing is based off of, and (as expected) that model file shows on my assembly tree.
I added a projected view (NOT based off the above-mentioned view) to the drawing and then desired to inherit the SETTINGS from another view, so I inadvertently picked the view mentioned above.
To my surprise not only were the settings (line weights, line fonts, etc) inherited, but the model that the view was based off of was also inherited.
I searched the view settings and could not find where that model is specified as what the view is based from.
Can I change the model that the view is based from someplace in the view settings?
If possible, this could be a future time saver for me.
I am on NX10.

Since "replace component" no longer works on drafting components, I've seen the inherit settings used as a work-around. To the best of my current knowledge, you cannot specify the part to use through the view settings.

I also used this frequently. Tested it on NX11 where it doesn't seem to work anymore. Also in NX12 it seems to be removed...

That is too bad that it doesn't work any more. It was a real time saver. I wonder if Teamcenter had an influence on that. Thanks for the feedback.
