Hi All;
I'm doing elastoplastic analysis of steel tubular joint using ADINA 8.0 for the following isotropic material properties:
Ex = Ey = 2100000 kg/cm2
Poisson's ratio = 0.3
Ep = Epx = Epy = 2113 kg/cm2
mass density = 0.0785 kg.sec2/cm4
Unfortunately the journal doesn't include initial yield stress for the above material. I'd really appreciate if any of you could help me with this.

Regards,

Mild steel shares the same value of Young's Modulus etc. You need to know the grade of steel to know the yield stress.

Hi Corus,
The journal doesn't say about the grade either. If you have any suggestion about any grade with those material properties I'd appreciate it.

If we can assume you have low-carbon steel, a YS of ~35-40 ksi at 0.2% offset (the common amount) should be close.

I'd agree with Metalguy, 245 MPa is about right for grade 43 steel to BS4360.
