Hello,
I am tasting ProE for some 10 years already, but now for the first time I have to make a manufacturing drawing, ouch!

To insert a driven dimension, a diameter, the help center suggests to:
click Insert>Dimension> Diameter Format...

But my ProE (WF4) gives only:

Insert>Dimension>
New Refenences...
Common Reference...
Ordinate...
Auto Ordinate...

I guess I am overlooking something that is very obvious.
Please help me out

Thanks for your time.
Regards, Bas

In WF2 (I think WF4 is the same), if you double click on a circle or arc & place the dimension it will automatically be a diameter dimension. If you are looking at the hole from the side, you just have to create a linear dimension and then add the diameter symbol to the text.

In Wildfire 5 Radius dimensions can be switched to diameter or linear diameter dimensions using Edit > Convert To > (Radius/Diameter/Linear).

New References would be what to select or you can add the Drawing Dimension icon to your toolbar. Common Reference allows you to create multiple chain dimensions off of a single initial reference like a baseline.

If you want to show a linear style diameter dimension show it in plan view first then right click the dimension and switch to projection view where it would appear linear.

I just discovered that in WF3 for driven diameter dimensions you cannot move them to another view for some reason (you can do this for shown dimensions).

You can place the dimension on an adjacent plan view, rotate it to a vertical orientation, right click and switch to linear, then drag the dimension and leaders close to the adjacent view. It will still be related to the plan view though. Better to use a shown dimension in any case.
