Insert hole in Orphan Mesh

Hello,

I have been reading the previous threads on inserting holes in parts with Orphan meshes and on trying to define interactions. I was wondering if anyone knew of a more efficient way to do this. I have to insert a screw (modeled by a simple cylinder) into a bone (orphan mesh part). I converted the mesh from tri to tet and I have tried making a hole in the part by deleting elements. The cut does not look like a smooth hole and I don't know how to insert the screw in the cut.

Also, I tried to cut/merge instances, but it says that there must be two geometry instances to make a cut. I read up on getting geometry from the orphan mesh but it seems near impossible. Has anyone made any findings regarding this topic? The threads I read before were a bit old.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In Abaqus support, answer 2576 explains a method to convert a deformed orphan mesh part to a geometric part, which may be helpful to you.
