Inserting Datum Features Into Drawings

When I put my datum feature onto my drawing view, I can't get it to extend off of the point where I put it. I want it to be off of the view with a extension line, but it seems to be stuck directly on the selection spot. ???

Make sure that your views are up to date, and that your current view is at least on the same sheet. (you don't need to be in the current view, but active views on other sheets sometimes cause quirks)
