Hi,
I'm inserting an excel worksheet into my drawing to create a parts schedule using the INSERTOBJ command to insert a linked object. Sometimes when I do this, I can only see a part of the worksheet in the display. The grips on the inseted object only scale it, rather than act as a "viewport" to see clipped areas of the source file. Is there a way to control the viewed area?
thanks in advance,

When I insert Excel objects in to AutoCAD, I have to hide columns I don't want to see in the drawing. Basically, the view in Excel has to be what I want to see in AutoCAD.

Thanks for answering,
Could you clarify how you hide parts of the worksheet? I have a set printable area in the source excel file, and sometimes the inserted object shows the whole worksheet and sometimes not. Sorry if this is basic to the more experienced users, but how do you define the viewable area in your acad dwg?

I'm not sure we are speaking the same language. In excel I "hide" columns and rows I do not want to see in autocad. In excel I highlight what I want, right-click copy then go to autocad edit / paste. If I ever want to change the cells, I right click the mini-worksheet in autocad, choose OLE and open. When I am done in excel, I quit excel and the object in autocad has changed.

thanks borgunit, that's exactly what I was looking for.
