Dear Engineers,

There's a current debate at our Company concerning the inspection and testing during a crude oil above ground storage tank bottom replacement, so, do you think it is better that the company covers all the inspection, NDE, vacuum box works by local inspectors or its more reward-able that the contractor provide their certified inspection group with only supervision, witnessing and approval by our inspectors?

I appreciate your opinions in the matter.

On the job contract, the Company will want the Contractor to do a good work and provide its self inspection.
As mentioned in your other post, depending on the work detail and application, a third party is typically used to inspect the work with a formal record which is needed to protect both Company and Contractor.
