I have just started a new job with a Crown Corporation in Ontario.

I have contacted contacted the Provincial Authority having jurisdiction for electrical inspections and their position is that they do not have jurisdiction over Crown Corporation companies.

Do you know who is supposed to inspect electrical work in Crown Corporations?

Thank you

When we did work in Toronto, Ontario for a Crown Corporation facility, the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) inspected the facilities.

Hi rcwilson,

One one hand ESA is has inspected the facility for previous electrical jobs, but on the other hand ESA has confirmed to me that they do not have jurisdiction over Crown Corporation facilities and consequently the electrical jobs do not have to be inspected by them.

Is there any other authority that should inspect electrical work in Crown Corporation facilities?

I am not fully cognizant on the political rules in Ontario. I just know that ESA inspected our facility. Maybe an Ontario PEng could help answer?
