Installation drawings in SWx 2009

My work is stuck with SWx 2009 and SmartTeam. We have an installation drawing for a mounting structure to support a space station module. The support structure has 20 components but the module has over a hundred. The problem is that SmartTeam wants to release all the unreleased subassemblies in the module when we release the installation drawing. Is there anyway to show the module in the .sldasm file as a reference-not an active part of the assembly tree?

Sounds like this is a question for the SmartTeam support staff and not a SW question.

That makes sense to me. The attached module is part of the installation drawing, so it should be in released status.

Can you send out a preliminary installation drawing?
