Hello,

I have a question about the installation of Internal Floating Roof.

What should be considered in the installation of Full Contact & Non Contact IFRs and where to start?

Where to start indeed.

Retrofit?

Access size into tank?

Ask a vendor or do some research.

For aluminum floating roofs, I would assume the manufacturers would have installation procedures.
For steel, maybe not.
What to consider: Drawings/details, intended sequence of work for assembly, hoisting, checking tolerances, float testing, etc.

Thank you, I will take your answer into consideration.

The installation processs is very different between aluminum full- and non- contact IFRs.
Are you interested in which part gets installed first, or more general question of should you buy a full- or non- contact IR?

I wanted to ask about both types of IFR.
For example, what should I pay attention to before starting the installation, where should I start?
It would be good if you could answer for the first non-contact if you can.

Thank you.

What is your role? Owner, installer, manufacturer, etc???

Generally a non-contact IFR proccess is similar to this:
Submit approval drawings
Pre-Construction Meeting / Job Site Safety Orientation
Tank Roundness & Plumbness Survey
Inventory, Inspection and Storage of Materials
Layout of the IFR and Tank Accessories
Installation of the Tank Mounted Accessories
Installation of the IFR
Final Inspection
Submit as-built drawings

I asked because I was interested and wanted to be informed.
your summary was enough for progress thanks
