I'm using NX 7.5 and I'm having an Odd problwm with instance Feature whenever I make an edit earlier in the tree than the instance, the instance features error out. (even if the edit, save being on the same body, has nothing to do with the edit) all I have to do to "revive" them is supress them and unsurpress them but the added "rebuild" time is getting on my nerves.

What if you made the Instance Feature the Current Feature, then used Edit with Rollback on the features you're edition that are prior to the Instance? Do you get same issue?

Without being able to see your part and what workflow you've used, most responses will more than likely be stabs in the dark.

If I make something before the instance the current feature they will go out of date (get the red X on the features) but they will update when I make the last feature the current feature.

Unfortunately the Data I'm working on is propietary so I can't share it though I can say that I and others have run into this issue often enough to make me wonder if it was a known issue or if a work around was availiable.

Sounds like it's referencing something of which you're not aware. I just modeled a very simple part (cylindrical plate with a small boss, a small hole opposite the boss and made an instance of a counterbored hole). I don't get the result with the red X's you're describing, so it doesn't appear to be a bug that's easily reproduced.

Again, hard telling without having your part to see - and I understand the proprietary issue - just saying it makes it more difficult to get to the issue at hand. Maybe replicate the scenario with a similar model that isn't as risky to post publicly?

I have faced this/similar problem many a times in NX 7.5, especially with Hole command.

Here goes one such typical example:

When I create a hole on a circular face at some PCD and Angle, UG creates the hole correctly and I make an instance of the hole. Till this stage there will not be any problem.

When I make any feature before the Hole as current feature, and come down to make the instance as current feature, all the instances of the hole will get into the center of that circular face, the instance looks like a Single Hole. Again I have to recreate the hole and instance (editing the hole does not work!)

Just give a try to this workaround:
Instead of creating the hole by directly by selecting the circular face, Select a Datum Plane created on the same face and then create the hole and instance. Check if this solves your problem.
