Instansiate issue

Can anyone tell me why, when I used to instantiate cat parts it used to reference the instantiated catpart, not actually save it as if it was an actual part for the prod structure. But now (after a Catia upgrade) it saves it as a part on the specified folder? How to I get it back to normal?
