I'm a LEED A.P. and I've never heard of this organization. USGBC/GBCI is the big fish in the industry. Green building is the current buzzword, and I'm sure there will be all sorts of businesses and associations sprouting up with the goal of making a dollar. I'm not saying for sure that this one isn't reputable, but if you have your doubts, then that's probably your answer.

Reminds me of the organization that picks the "Best Lawyers in America." They notify an attorney that he's been picked, and he writes them a bio, etc..., and once he's signed off on agreeing to be in their publication, they ask him for a contribution to cover their expenses. Of course, very few say no -- they're being rated as a "Best in America" after all.

Whee!

I'd stay away from anything that sent me an unsolicited nomination to anything.
