Does anyone know of a list of standard instrument datasheet/specification numbers or a number series?
One engineering company uses 17xxx series
MasterSpec is mainly for builders/architects and does not have a series for instruments/automation.
ISA has a list of datasheet forms but does not have a standard list of specification numbers.

From my experience, that is up to the end user. Some are very organized about drawings and their numbers and others not so much.

Most companies are different. I like using the tag number for one device covered by the spec for the spec number.

Looks like section 25 or 26 is instrumentation in MasterSpec?

Thanks controlnovice!

I had the 2004 version and this 2011 version has been greatly expanded. Section 40 90 00 looks like what I'm after. I'll have to look at it in more detail.
