I’m looking for a course (preferably NW England) for an electrically trained person to learn the fundamentals of hazardous area process instrumentation.

I’ve been on the 3 day instrument COMPEX course, which was very good but didn’t go into any detail on actual field instruments.

Any advice would be much appreciated,

Alan

Alan,

Suggest you approach MTL as a possible provider, although they are biased toward I.S. equipment as this is their main market. Alternative could be SIRA, although I've no experience on their courses.

There a few possibilities in the Teesside area serving the local petrochemical industry's needs. A possible lead, subject to your own evaluation, could be NETA in Stockton. Teesside isn't so far from the North-west, and you could experience a better, dryer, way of life. [wink]
