Hello all,
I am specifying a voltage and current transformer for metering purposes on a 138kV system operation voltage under ANSI standards. I thought of specifying a 0.3WXYZ (200VA Burden) for the voltage transformer and a 0.3B1.8 (45VA Burden) for the current transformer.
As you might already know, electronic relays and meters have very low burden (.1VA or so), but I was also told that the accuracy and burden that I am specifying is the minimum standard fabricated for this voltage. Is that true? and if so, would this affect the performance of the instrument transformers.
Thank you,
-Pablo
