Hi All

Is there anyone who can help me, I am looking for a website that can give some kind of background on instrumentation. My background is Mechanical, and with my new job I am working mostly with instruments like pressure trasmitter, power meters, turbidity meters etc. I need a website that can maybe give me some background on how instrumentations work.

Thanks for your help
Regards

Have a poke around on Emerson's website for the Fisher and Rosemount brands (in the 'Divisions' pulldown near the top right of the page) for valves and transmitters.

Foxboro is another major instrument manufacturer.

For power meters, look for something like a PQM II from GE Multilin as an example of an upmarket meter.

you need the instrument Engineers Handbook, a mere $150 or so.
The ISA -Instrument Society of America has some pretty good tutorials. I have used them before and they come with videos and workbooks if you want to get to that level. They take on function at a time, like pressure measurement and really get in to it.
