When using insulated connectors on any size wire, is there a code of what size connector has to be used. For example, when using 12awg stranded wire ,you should consider using 10-12 connector. However when using these connectors(10-12) on a #12 wire. Its really loose and hard to work with in a production mode(Using a crimping machine). The idea is to move to the next size(14-16 connector), because of the better fit and easier to handle. Which now leads me to the next question of,,, is this a electrical code issue.

Also please keep in mind this 100A enclosure has 3 external recepticals.

The connector is approved for use over a certain range of conductor sizes and quantities that are marked on the box.

If you use the connector on any size or combination of wires not on the list, this would be a code violation.
