Using steel menbers in framing dictates that one put a thermal break between it and the siding [both exterior and interior]. Two ingreditents, ceramic granules and microsphers, added to paint are claimed to give it insulating properties. Has anyone had some actual experience in this area and can you direct me to a comerical vendor that really knows his product?

check with the steel framing alliance web site... depending on where you live, paint may not provide enough of a thermal barrier. They have insulating guidelines to use with steel framing
