Hi,
We do wall thickness checks on accumulators for a customer.

(posted in asme section also)

They are built according to ASME VIII Div. 1 App. 22 Integrally Forged Vessels.

The manufacturers report states a minimum wall thickness for top, bottom and shell.

We always took top and bottom as being where they start to concave but it is noted that at start of concave wall thickness are much closer to limit than at the very end (next to opening).

They have had a verification company in and they want to define top and bottom but nothing is written in the spec.

My question: Can anybody shed light on where "top and bottom" actually is defined? We presume its written somewhere for it to be on the manufacturers report?

Any extra info would be nice too?
