Hello,

a post-processing question:

how to integrate scalar field values over a 2D domain which belong to a 3D model?
Let suppose I have a cylinder with a void sphere inside and I perform steady state heat transfer with fixed T1 and T2 on both side of the cylinder (S1, S2). I then want to calculate the global thermal conductivity in the axis direction, for this I need to calculate the total incoming flux on the surface S1. How to do it in Abaqus?
[in ABQ CAE I tried to define surfaces S1 and S2 as model surfaces, then after simul is done ->create XY data->odb field output + saving centroid values + operate on xy data but: 1.I cannot chose surface only elsets during odb field output and 2.trying the "integrate" functions I got the syntax error "more than 255 elements").
Inp file in attachment

Please help!
thanks, Alex
