I have a Classic 67 Chevy Malibu Convertible. The frame is now unrepairable. I have been advised to Change the frame entirely. What years are Interchangeable?

Your local junkyard has interchange manuals that should answer the question.

There's at least one aftermarket frame available for the following cars. Since they were all listed together, some level of interchangeability is implied.

1964-1972 GM A-Body Chevelle, Malibu, GTO, Lemans, Tempest, Cutlass, 442, Skylark GS

For some unknown reason, I keep thinking there were some slight wheelbase differences (112" & 116") depending on the sub-model, though that may be associated with whether the vehicle in question was a station wagon or an El Camino.

Make sure you get a Convertible replacement frame, fully boxed rails and thicker construction if I remember correctly.

At least 64-67 is the same, at least for fit, there could be some variations in hole locations for accessory equipment. ( Gas lines, etc. )

Norm,

Do you recall who manufactures the replacement frames you mentioned? This information would be of great potential value to me.

The 2-doors and 4-doors had different wheelbases. I am sure the ones being repro'd are for the 2-doors, they are the ones with collector interest.
