What is the typical design practice by others for interior footings for a metal building (pre-engineered).
I have used both isolated and integral with success. I have seen big problems with integral footings and large column loads.
I would appreciate any comments by others on this subject. I have a contractor for a large warehouse who wants to use only integral footings at the interior. I am leaning towards isolated footings unless I receive some good reports on the integral (cast with the slab) footings.

I agree with you, Dave. I do not allow integral column footings in large floor area buildings. They restrain the floor too much, leading to unnecessary cracking. And I have yet to see anchor bolts in integral column footings set in the right place.
